The Short Film: After Dark

This is a modern film made for Maundy Thursday.  It explores the period of time after Judas Iscariot has betrayed Jesus and what leads him to take his own life.

This short documentary is a celebration of the twenty-fifth anniversary of women's ordination to the priesthood in the Church of England.

After a homage to the Pathé style of 1950s film-making, I give a brief overview of some of the early pioneers that it made it possible for people like me to find my place in the ranks of the ordained clergy.

The Rule Breaker

when the end is just the beginning

This was a community film project working with David Doré, from Silk Purse Films, Derek Goodwin, and Chris Tizzard, and a host of local acting talent.  I wrote the script as a stage show originally and this was then adapted for a feature-length film.  The proceeds of the stage show and the sale of the DVDs were in aid of the Hospice in the Weald. The stories are designed to be enjoyed as a feature film or as separate stories and there are studies to go with each story, written by Bishop Simon Burton-Jones. Please contact me if you would like to follow them.

Jericho Way

A modern retelling of the story of The Good Samaritan

Teaming up with 'The Rule Breaker' Team again, we set about filming a screenplay I had written called 'Jericho Way'. It picks up the story of The Good Samaritan and puts it at the heart of the political landscape, within the context of immigration.  Although this film was made in 2014, it seems even more relevant today.

'Stories That Need To Be Told':
Community Stories of Hope

Click on the links below to watch short documentaries featuring community stories.  They were part of the HOPE 2018 project.  I made them while I was Arts in Mission Co-ordinator for Rochester Diocese.  Thank you to everyone who worked on these stories with me and particularly to Caroline Clarke who really knows what it means to love and empower community champions everywhere.

'Tales from the Dinosaur Kingdom'

For all those little T. Rex fans out there

I remember our boys going through their Dinosaur mania stage when they were little.  I wrote a collection of five dinosaur stories and they became an unusual baptism present for my godchild.  I was encouraged to make them into an e-book and this can be bought for the princely sum of £0.99 from Amazon here.
If you want to hear one of the stories, click on the link below for 'A Friend for Ernie'.
